Get to Know the Man Behind the Journey

  • Andrew Menter is a dynamic leader and former Division I collegiate athlete whose cutting-edge work in fitness technology is revolutionizing the way we understand and enhance human movement. Born in South Africa and raised in Dallas, Andrew's athletic journey spans a tennis scholarship at Brown University, semi-professional rugby post-college and competing in four Ironman championships, including a remarkable qualification for the world championships in Kona.

Andrew's academic and professional journey is equally impressive. With a law degree and an MBA from the University of Houston, he thrived in investment banking after passing the bar exam but foregoing a career in law. After 5 years on Wall Street, Andrew founded his first company, Vivature. Despite an unsuccessful exit, Andrew's resilience and entrepreneurial spirit never wavered. His tenure as CEO at TriggerPoint further fueled his drive to innovate, ultimately leading to the creation of Physmodo. Physmodo emerged from Andrew's personal experiences with sports injuries - achilles rupture, labrum tear, ruptured bicep tendon, to name a few - and his passion for pushing boundaries. Recognizing the need to address movement asymmetries that he believe led to his injuries, he spearheaded a revolutionary movement assessment technology. Physmodo leverages advanced computer vision to deliver fast, objective, and repeatable movement assessments, quantifying human movement with unparalleled reliability.

This innovative technology provides personalized, science-based programs to enhance mobility, stability, posture, and symmetry. By transforming customer engagement and outcomes, Physmodo offers an experience that redefines traditional movement assessments, cementing Andrew Menter's role as a key contributor and invaluable asset in the fitness industry.

  • Andrew Menter is a dynamic entrepreneur renowned for his resilience, innovation, and transformative impact on the fitness industry. Born in South Africa and raised in Dallas, Andrew’s athletic journey began with tennis, including a Texas state championship and national ranking that led to a tennis scholarship to Brown University. His dedication to sports extended beyond college, competing in four Ironman events, including the world championships in Kona after qualifying at the European Championships in Frankfurt, Germany. Between his tennis and ironman endeavors, Andrew played semi-professional rugby for the Dallas Harlequins RFC in the 16 team US Super Rugby League that predated Major League Rugby, the US’s first true professional rugby league.

Andrew's professional journey is as impressive as his athletic achievements. He earned a law degree and an MBA from the University of Houston, followed by a successful career in investment banking after foregoing a legal career after passing the Texas Bar. Andrew still keeps his law license. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Vivature, but significant setbacks forced him to start over at 39 after an unsuccessful exit. As a member of the TriggerPoint board of directors, Andrew become the only non-founder CEO of TriggerPoint, the company behind the iconic orange foam rollers seen in gyms and on TV screens worldwide.

During his tenure at TriggerPoint, Andrew learned about depth camera technology from Microsoft, sparking a new vision. He saw the potential of the Kinect camera's advanced capabilities to revolutionize movement assessment. After his tenure at TriggerPoint, Andrew established a sports medicine clinic, which he later sold. In 2016, Andrew founded Physmodo with the mission to make movement assessments accessible, simple, and repeatable. Physmodo uses cutting-edge computer vision technology to deliver quick, objective, and engaging movement assessments, providing tools to improve mobility, stability, posture, and symmetry through personalized corrective exercise protocols.

Under Andrew’s leadership, Physmodo has achieved significant milestones, including a pivotal partnership with TRX and the performance of over 1.8 million screens for 500,000 users. His strategic focus and innovative spirit have positioned Physmodo at the forefront of fitness technology. Despite challenges like transitioning from enterprise-focused platforms to mobile applications and navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew's vision has led to the creation of a user-friendly, highly effective product.
